White Oak has mostly a straight, wide grain pattern, and tends to have more figure than Red Oak. It is quite workable and is not prone to burning when machined, pre-drilling is advised for screws and nails. Galvanized screws and nails should be used. White Oak can be finished with a wide array of stains or clear finishes. It is perfect for furniture or trim.
